The 2009 Triennial Meeting will take place at the Hilton Los Angeles North, located in Glendale, California. The hotel is centrally located, near areas of interest, numerous eateries and entertainment venues. It is just 8 miles (15 mins.) from Bob Hope Airport (Burbank), and 25 miles (30-40 mins.) from Los Angeles International Airport.
The Hilton Los Angeles North has won the AAA 4-diamond Award for four years in a row and received the highest service scores in the LA Region for Hilton Hotels Corp. Glendale is rated the second safest city in California with a population over 150,000.
The hotel is only 1.5 miles from the American Heritage Library and Museum, formerly known as the Sons of the Revolution Library. Site of the Opening Reception, its proximity provides attendees the opportunity to spend time at the Library during their trip to conduct research if desired.
A re-model of all hotel guest rooms commenced in July, 2008 and will be completed prior to the Triennial Meeting.
In addition to guest rooms richly appointed with classic cherry furnishings, hotel amenities include an exercise room and pool. The hotel has an on-site car rental service.
The hotel offers free shuttle service to the Burbank Airport, which is served by Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue Airways, Mesa Airlines, Skywest Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United and U. S. Airways.
LAX is served by ninety airlines. Transportation from LAX to the hotel can be arranged through Super Shuttle. By coordinating in advance with others from your State Society attending the Triennial Meeting, a group discount is possible.
A survey conducted February 4, 2009 of typical round trip air fares for flights in September, 2009 showed the following results:
Discount airfares significantly lower than above are available through Southwest Airlines to both Burbank and Los Angeles. For example, round trip airfare between Philadelphia and Burbank was $188, and between Detroit and Burbank just $169, although reservations are only accepted six months in advance.
