UNIFORMS OF
THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

Raised in 1755, it arrived in America in May, 1776 and spent the entire war in America.  It was at the 1st Siege of Charleston and then took part in the New York Campaign fighting at Long Island.  It spent most of the time garrisoned in New York, being sent out to various minor engagements.  The light company of the regiment served in Carolina and Virginia under Cornwallis and surrendered with the rest of his army at Yorktown.

The regimental facings were bright yellow; officers' lace gold.  The mens' lace was white with a black stripe.
