UNIFORMS OF
THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

Raised in 1758, the regiment arrived in Boston in June, 1775.  Both the grenadier and light companies first saw action at Bunker Hill, and was also engaged in Long Island, Monmouth, Court House, and the 2nd Siege of Charleston.  It continued to serve in America until 1782.

Officers of the Grenadiers wore the traditional grenadier bearskin cap and were armed with a fusil or light musket.  The regimental facings were given as very dark green, in reality a deep green/blue; officers lace was silver as were the hilts of their swords.  The lace of the men was white with a single green line through.
