2012 George Washington Open House
American Heritage Library and Museum -- Feb 20, 2012
More than one hundred people gathered at the American Heritage Library and Museum on President's Day (Feb 20, 2012) to celebrate the 280th anniversary of the birth of George Washington. Celebrating its 119th Anniversary, the Library and Museum is a patriotic project of the Sons of the Revolution in the State of California.
Those assembled were greeted by Paul W. Gray, Ed.D., President of the
Sons of the Revolution in the State of California.
In addition to exhibits and displays, visitors were delighted
with a special exhibit of a Federalist period tea set.
The special exhibit was courtesy of SR Board Member Charles Reardon.
The Tea Set owned by Richard Harison, First U.S. Attorney for New York,
appointed by President George Washington in 1789.
A special birthday cake was presented.
The pleasant affair was capped off with a serving of Fish House punch, a favorite drink of George Washington.
