37-Star Flag (1867)

Nebraska won approval for statehood in 1864.  By 1866, Nebraska residents had ratified their state's constitution in accordance with the Federal Constitution and the state was admitted to the Union on March 1, 1867.  Becoming the official flag on July 4, 1867, this flag flew during the administrations of three Presidents: Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant and Rutherford B. Hayes.
